Last Night by April Thomas
Last night as I lay in my bed delighted in a peaceful sleep, you came to me.
Last night while my heart ached for you, you appeared to me.
Last night in my dream you stopped me from running away from you.
Last night in my dream you showed me your love is true.
Last night in my dream my fingertips traveled along your soft skin.
Last night in my dream we breathed each other in.
Last night as I slept our bodies merged and we made love without regret.
Last night as I slept my soul relived a love that it cannot forget.
Last night tears soaked my pillow, as my hands felt your presence leave
Last night I felt your heart, soul, and your body, grieve for what couldn’t be.

Here is a taste of ‘Affiance’, this book is a retelling of Isis and Osiris. It spins a tale of raw relentless love and betrayal. I absolutely love this story. I don’t consider myself a historical fiction writer, but I did have fun imagining this world with people who genuinely love each other and do everything in their power to hold on to that love. It really is a love worth fighting for. So, I hope that you all enjoy. Oh and the book is available on Amazon, ebook and print. Soon it will be available everywhere.
In this scene, Isis is upset because Osiris has said some things that hurt her, however, he instantly regrets them, but the words are already said.
Affiance~ A Relentless Love~
Speechless Isis bowed her head tears fell from her eyes as she turned and walked out the door, Osiris rushed after her, but stopped in the doorway reminding himself he must hold his ground, his heart broke as he watched her walk away, disappearing into their bedroom chamber.
Instantly he wanted to take back his harsh words but that would mean accepting that what she had said to be true, and he refused to believe that his brother could be so heartless towards him.
Queen Isis threw herself on the bed and wept. Quietly her sister Nephthys entered and gently ran her finger over her sister’s hair while speaking kind, loving words to her. “He does not mean to hurt you?” she said as Isis lifted her head.
“Why won’t he listen to me, I’m not trying to hurt him, I just want him to know what he’s really up against.” Isis cried.
“He cannot always see what you see, it is your gift. He cannot always understand what you understand. Set has his claws deep into him, he simply can’t see that a person so close to him wants to see him suffer,” Nephthys replied.
